Commission has launched Helpdesk to support EU SMEs comply with sanctions
Posted On 08 May 2025 | Press release
The European Commission has launched a new one-stop-shop providing vital support to European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) navigating the complex landscape of sanctions compliance.
The EU Sanctions Helpdesk offers a comprehensive range of services designed to help SMEs comply with EU sanctions worldwide, reducing the risk of non-compliance, as well as associated costs. The EU has over 40 sanctions regimes globally.
The Helpdesk will provide personalized support to EU SMEs performing sanctions due diligence checks – at no cost to the companies. The Helpdesk will manage a dedicated website (EU Sanctions Helpdesk – European Union) featuring sanctions-related information, country-specific guidance, events, tips, lessons learned, and more.
At the same time, the Helpdesk will collaborate with related parties, including public authorities, business support stakeholders, financial/credit institutions, compliance and international sanctions organizations, through joint activities, events and training seminars.
All UN and EU restrictive measures are covered by the Helpdesk, providing SMEs with the necessary information to manage the challenges of sanctions compliance with confidence. This can assist European economic operators in avoiding the loss of legitimate business opportunities due to uncertainty concerning their legality.
We encourage Cypriot enterprises that have questions or require clarifications on issues related to the sanctions to visit the above-mentioned website on a regular basis to stay current with the latest information and address any inquiries.
