Sweden and Cyprus established diplomatic relations in 1960, when Cyprus became an independent state. The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Stockholm opened in 1994. The Ambassador of Cyprus in Stockholm is also accredited to Latvia and Norway.
The Embassy’s primary mission is to promote, strengthen and expand the bilateral relations of Cyprus with Sweden, Latvia and Norway in all fields, including in the the political, cultural, economic and trade sectors, as well as deepen the cooperation with the aforementioned countries within the framework of the European Union and in international fora.
The Consular section of the Embassy offers a wide range of services, both to Cypriot citizens and to the general public, pertaining amongst others, to information about Cyprus, advice to those who want to travel to Cyprus or wish to establish businesses or other contacts there, and consular assistance to Cypriots who are visiting or living in the countries of the Embassy’s accreditation.
