Welcome to the website of the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Cyprus in the Russian Federation.
The primary mission of our Embassy is to promote the bilateral relations of the Republic of Cyprus with all the countries to which Ambassador Dr. Kypros Giorgallis is accredited: the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
The promotion of the Republic of Cyprus is achieved through regular visits by the Ambassador to all accredited countries and through official meetings with relevant authorities. In parallel, events aimed at promoting Cypriot culture and showcasing the history of our country are organized at regular intervals.
At the core of the Embassy’s mission is also the service and support of Cypriot citizens residing in the accredited countries, as well as the provision of consular services.
The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Moscow is housed in one of the first stone-built buildings that were built by Russian merchants and industrialists on Povarskaya Street in the mid-nineteenth century.
The first owner of the house was E. Dunker, spouse of the engineer K. Dunker who constructed the pipes transporting water from Mytistchi to the Russian capital. During the renovation of the building, frescoes of the well-known painter Mikhail Vrubel were found, which are now kept in the Russian Museum of St. Petersburg and the gallery of the city of Omsk.
The Embassy is located at a central part of Moscow, not far from the Kremlin and the State Duma. Povarskaya Street is adjacent to Novi Arbat Avenue and near the Metro Station Arbatskaya.
The Church of St. Simeon is less than 100 m from the Embassy, while right next to it is the Embassy of Norway.
Apart from the Embassy and the Ambassador’s Residence, the building also houses the Consulate, the Office of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Commercial Section.
