The Republic of Cyprus was among the first countries to recognize Ukraine’s independence in 1991, and diplomatic relations between the countries were established in 1992. In 2011, the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Ukraine was opened in Kyiv. The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Demetris Christofias, President of the Republic of Cyprus.
The opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Ukraine reflects the depth and versatility of friendly relations between Cyprus and Ukraine in the cultural, economic and political fields.
Since its opening, the Embassy has been carrying out information and counseling activities, as well as providing a full range of consular services for Ukrainian citizens wishing to visit Cyprus for tourism purposes, and for Ukrainian entrepreneurs doing business in Cyprus.
