The Deputy Minister of Shipping of the Republic of Cyprus had a meeting with the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, in Cyprus

On 3 July 2025, the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Ms Marina Hadjimanolis, welcomed the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Prof. Dr Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, at the Shipping Deputy Ministry’s offices in Lemesos.
This visit follows Ms Hadjimanolis’ official visit to Egypt in October 2024, during which she visited AASTMT’s facilities in Alexandria and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster cooperation in maritime education, research, technology, and innovation between the two parties.
During the meeting in Lemesos, a constructive and substantive dialogue took place, focusing on issues of mutual interest and future ventures aimed at enhancing maritime education and professional training of seafarers.
The Shipping Deputy Minister also extended an invitation to the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport to participate in the upcoming conference “Maritime Cyprus 2025”, which he gladly accepted.
