The scheme aims to facilitate the social reintegration and rehabilitation of people who have been released from the Central Prisons of the Republic of Cyprus by providing incentives to employers for their recruitment. The scheme is part of the active employment policies promoted by the Government to combat poverty and social exclusion, in particular the active inclusion of vulnerable groups in the labour market. The scheme may be co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF+) and the Government of Cyprus.
