Issue or renew a press card

For issuing or renewing a press card, local media representatives must be mainly and regularly employed by a local media organization in Cyprus. Respectively, international media correspondents must be mainly and regularly employed by an international media organization, which operates or is published outside Cyprus.

Applicants must fill out the web form below and submit/upload the following required documents:
• A valid identity card or passport.
• An original dated letter from their employer/media organization, confirming their continuous employment:
- For local media, as a media representative with the said organization. The letter must include the journalist’s name in Greek and English and their identity card or passport number.
- For international media correspondents, as a correspondent in Cyprus with the said organization. The letter must include the journalist’s name in English and their identity card or passport number.
• A recent portrait photo in jpeg format, resolution 200 ppi.

Applicants or authorized persons are kindly requested to collect their press card from the Press and Information Office after scheduling an appointment via the e-mail address: localpress@pio.moi.gov.cy, providing the original confirmation of employment letter signed by the employer.

At least a three-week period is required for the issuance of a press card from the date of the application’s submission.

The press card is valid for one year from the date of issue and there are no applicable fees.
