Issuance and Renewal of Seafarer’s Certificates of Competency and Seafarer’ Training Certificates of Proficiency (C42)
General Application Guidelines
Who Can Apply
- Seafarers
Seafarers serving on board Cyprus ships or seafarers who attended an approved training program at an approved Maritime Training Centre or Maritime Training Academy.
- Seafarers who are permanent citizens of Cyprus: Apply using their CY Login If they don’t have one, they must create one.
- Seafarers who are non-permanent citizens of Cyprus: Apply using their CYSh1P account (SDM Login).
- Approved Maritime Training Centres and Training Academies
- Approved Maritime Training Centres and Maritime Training Academies registered in Cyprus login into the SDM platform (CYSh1P) via their CY Login If they don’t have one, they must create one.
- Foreign Approved Maritime Training Centres and Maritime Training Academies login into the SDM platform (CYSh1P) via SDM Login.
How to Apply
First Register and Enroll
- To be able to apply, users must first create an account and enroll in the relevant services (see User Guide at https://cysh1p.dms.gov.cy/).
(a) Seafarers who are permanent citizens of Cyprus and Seafarers who are non-permanent citizens of Cyprus
- Can apply directly for the issue/renewal of: Certificates of Competency and/or Seafarers Certificates of Proficiency.
- Documents marked with an asterisk (*) need to be uploaded only once for each seafarer during the application process.This means that if you are submitting multiple applications (e.g. for different certificates), you do not need to upload the same document more than once, provided it is still valid and already associated with the seafarer’s profile.
(b) Approved Maritime Training Centres and Maritime Training Academies
- Can submit applications for multiple seafarers in batch form.
- For each seafarer, the applicant may request a Seafarer’s: Competency Certificate and/or Certificates of Proficiency.
- Documents marked with an asterisk (*) need to be uploaded only once for each seafarer. This means that if multiple applications are submitted (for a number of seafarers and possibly for different certificates), there is no need to upload the same document more than once, provided it is still valid and already associated with the seafarer’s profile.
- Make a single consolidated payment for the entire batch of applications before submitting it.
