First Lady’s initiative is relaunched

For a second consecutive year, the Presidential Residence in Troodos will be opening its doors to the public on Sunday, 29 June 2025, from 11:00 until 18:00, as part of the initiative of First Lady Philippa Karsera-Christodoulides, aiming at showcasing small businesses and producers of rural Cyprus.

The Traditional Delicacies and Crafts Fair is organised in cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the Office of the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities, and the Press and Information Office (PIO) of the Republic of Cyprus. Around forty-five exhibitors with local products, crafts, and traditional workshops are participating. The programme also includes workshops on the preparation of halloumi and other local products, live music, and other activities.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy a screening of episodes from the “Myths and Tales of Cyprus” series, produced by the PIO.

As in last year’s Fair, “Troodos 2” will feature a charity aspect, since part of the proceeds from products sold will be donated to support the “IKAROS” social support programme of the Pelendri Social Welfare Council (SKE Pelendriou).

“Troodos 2” presents a unique opportunity to showcase and support small and medium-sized businesses that produce and sell local traditional products with unique quality traits. At the same time, it contributes in the preservation of cultural heritage, and highlights the local identity and the traditional way of life.

Free bus transfers

Access to the Presidential Residence will take place exclusively through leased buses, which will depart at regular intervals from the parking area of the Troodos Environmental Information Centre and Troodos Square (next to the Meteorological Station) from 11 a.m. onwards. Transportation of the public and entrance to the Presidential Residence will be free of charge.
