The President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, signed today the Book of Condolence opened at the Embassy of Kuwait in Nicosia for the passing away of the late Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nawal al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
In his message, the President of the Republic wrote the following:
“It is with profound sorrow that I express my deepest condolences to the Royal Family, the Government and the people of the State of Kuwait over the loss of the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Both the State of Kuwait and the broader region have lost a charismatic leader and a valued partner whose lifelong dedication to his country and his steadfast commitment towards regional peace and prosperity constitute concrete examples of his great legacy.
In this time of deep grief, I am convinced that the Republic of Cyprus and the State of Kuwait will continue to work towards the further enhancement of the bilateral cooperation in accordance with the spirit and guidance of late Amir’s bequest; that of mutual understanding and respect for dialogue, continued progress and durable peace.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
