The President of the Republic of Cyprus will meet the Prime Minister of the Republic of India

In response to an invitation extended by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Mr Narendra Modi, will pay a two-day visit to Cyprus – the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 23 years.
On 15 June 2025, President Christodoulides will welcome Prime Minister Modi upon his arrival at “Glafcos Clerides” Larnaka International Airport. They will then travel to Lemesos, where they will attend a business roundtable with entrepreneurs from both countries. The two leaders will attend an informal working dinner.
On Monday, 16 June, the Prime Minister of the Republic of India will receive an official welcome at the Presidential Palace. He will then hold a tête-à-tête meeting with President Christodoulides, who will present the Prime Minister with the Grand Collar of the Order of Makarios III.
Meetings in an extended format will follow, after which the two leaders will make statements to the press.
During the meetings, the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them will be discussed, among other topics, especially in the areas of economy, trade, infrastructure, and investment. The European Union and India relations will also be discussed, as well as the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), the situation in the Middle East and South Asia, and the latest developments in the Cyprus problem.
Later, the two leaders will visit the Nicosia Town Hall, from where they will take a guided tour alongside the United Nations (UN) ceasefire line.
The President of the Republic of Cyprus will then host an official luncheon in honour of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India at the Presidential Palace. Following the luncheon, Prime Minister Modi will depart from Cyprus.
