The President of the Republic arrives in Rome

The President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, arrived in Rome early this afternoon, where later tοday he will have meetings with the political leadership of Italy.
In late afternoon, the President of the Republic will meet with the President of Italy, Mr Sergio Mattarella, whereas later he will have a working meeting with the Italian Prime Minister, Ms Giorgia Meloni.
During the meetings, discussions will focus on developments in the region, the initiative of the Republic of Cyprus for the creation of a maritime corridor to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, the Migration issue, and the efforts made by our side for the resumption of talks on the Cyprus issue.
The President of the Republic is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Constantinos Kombos, the Government Spokesman, Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis, the Ambassador of the Republic to Italy, Mr Yiorgos Christofides, and the Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President of the Republic, Ms Marilena Raouna.
