28/03/24 12:15 | Press release | President of the Republic / Presidency
The President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, upon arrival today at the ceremony of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Social Welfare Services and the local authorities, replied to a journalist’s question regarding news about the humanitarian aid corridor. President Christodoulides said: “I was specifically briefed by US military officials when I recently had a meeting about the creation of the port there. The target is May 1, but based on the information I have received, it looks like there may be a possible conclusion significantly earlier, and this is something that will help to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza even more.”
