Professor Costas Kadis is the Republic of Cyprus’ nominee for the position of Cyprus’ Commissioner of the European Union (EU). His experience derived from the various positions he has held in service of the Republic of Cyprus’ Institutions as well as his academic background and expertise were key factors for his selection at this significant position.
Last week, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, and the President of the European Commission, Ms Ursula von der Leyen, held a telephone conversation during which they exchanged views on the matter as well as his proposed nominee based on certain criteria.
The President of the Republic of Cyprus expresses his strong appreciation for the outgoing Commissioner, Ms Stella Kyriakides, and congratulates her for her work and
endeavour in Health, especially at the critical period of the COVID-19 pandemic in the EU.
