Written statement by the Government Spokesman, Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis, on the meeting of the President of the Republic of Cyprus with the President of the United Arab Emirates

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, had a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting was held following an invitation extended by the President of the UAE towards President Christodoulides.

Among the topics discussed during the meeting was the promotion of cooperation between Cyprus and the UAE in areas of energy and infrastructure, regional developments, further strengthening of bilateral relations and ways to accelerate the strategic relationship between the two countries in order to achieve tangible results.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Constantinos Kombos, the Government Spokesman, the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Ms Marilena Raouna, the Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Doros Venezis and other officials.

On the UAE side, the meeting was attended by the Minister and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The President will return to Cyprus on 12/9/2024.
