Written statement by the Government Spokesman, Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis, for President Christodoulides’ participation in the International Peace Conference, on the situation in the Middle East

The President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, departs for Cairo, Egypt, tomorrow morning, where he will participate in the deliberations of the International Peace Conference on the situation in the Middle East, upon an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Heads of State and Heads of Organisations from all over the world, including the Middle East and the Gulf, Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean, Africa and elsewhere, as well as the Secretary General of the United Nations and Heads of European Union Institutions have also been invited and will participate in the Conference.

In the framework of the Conference deliberations, that will take place in the new Administrative Capital of Egypt, President Sisi will host a working lunch. In the sidelines of the Conference, President Christodoulides will hold bilateral meetings with Heads of State or Government.

During his stay in Egypt, the President of the Republic will be accompanied by the Foreign Minister, Mr Constantinos Kombos, the Government Spokesman, Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis, and the Director of his Diplomatic Office, Ms Marilena Raouna.

President Christodoulides will return to Cyprus on the same evening.
