Regarding the operation to evacuate civilians from Sudan via Cyprus, below are the latest figures covering the period from the day of the activation of Plan “Estia” on Tuesday 25 April until today, Thursday 27 April (time: 18:30).
Arrivals:
25 April: 3 flights arrived
26 April: 4 flights arrived
27 April: 1 flight arrived, 3 more flights expected
28 April: 4 flights expected.
The total number of people who have arrived is 877.
Departures:
To date, 4 flights have departed with a total of 610 people and a final destination of 610 people in the UK.
Figures for Cypriot citizens, their family members and expatriates
Since the activation of the Hestia Plan, 4 Cypriot citizens and 11 family members and expatriates have been evacuated, including the Honorary Consul of Cyprus in Khartoum and his family. By road, 7 persons are travelling to Egypt. It is noted that one (1) person who was initially included in the list of persons to be evacuated, has chosen to remain in the country.
