Travel Advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Syria

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus is closely monitoring the worsening situation in Syria, and notes that the security situation in the country can deteriorate further without warning.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus continues to advise Cypriot nationals to avoid all travel to Syria and, those who wish to depart from the country are strongly encouraged to leave through Lebanon where they can take advantage of available commercial flights. Furthermore, Cypriot citizens in Syria are advised to avoid all areas in the country where there is ongoing fighting, all gatherings and demonstrations and remain vigilant. They are also advised to closely follow the developments and information from the international and local media, avoid unnecessary movements and apply maximum security measures.
