The Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg paid an official visit to the Republic of Cyprus

The Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr Xavier Bettel, paid an official visit to the Republic of Cyprus on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, following an invitation by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Constantinos Kombos.
In the framework of the visit, the two Ministers held a tête-à-tête meeting, followed by consultations in an extended format, with the participation of delegations from the two Ministries. Discussions focused on further strengthening bilateral relations, the Cyprus problem, European Union (EU) affairs, as well as current regional and international developments, with focus on the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.

The Ministers visited the University of Cyprus, where they participated as keynote speakers in an open dialogue with students of the University, on the topic of “European integration and the role of small member states”, organised to mark the 20th anniversary of Cyprus’ accession to the EU.
During his visit to the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Bettel was received in the morning by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides.
