The Minister of Foreign Affairs paid a working visit to the United Arab Emirates

Foreign Minister, Dr Constantinos Kombos, paid a working visit to Abu Dhabi, on 4-5 June.

During the visit, Dr Kombos held consultations with the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two Ministers engaged on an overview of the bilateral relations between Cyprus and the UAE, as well as on ways for strengthening the close cooperation between the two countries on issues of strategic interest. They also held an in-depth discussion on regional developments and their ongoing coordination on issues of mutual interest, including EU-UAE relations.

Dr Kombos also held a meeting with Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Senior Diplomatic Advisor to the President of UAE, during which they had an exchange of views on pertinent bilateral and multilateral cooperation on geopolitical challenges and regional opportunities.
