The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Singapore presented his credentials

The new High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Singapore, Mr Nikos Panayiotou, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, at a ceremony held at the Istana in Singapore on March 14th 2024.

During the ceremony, High Commissioner Panayiotou conveyed the heartfelt greetings and personal commitment of the President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, to further deepen the relations between the two countries.

During the meeting that followed, the friendly ties between the two countries, as well as the mutual interest in broadening bilateral sectoral cooperation, were reaffirmed. The High Commissioner briefed President Shanmugaratnam on the latest developments on the Cyprus Question and expressed appreciation for Singapore’s principled position.

President Shanmugaratnam wished the new Ηigh Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus every success in his mission. In this regard, he assured the High Commissioner of his own, as well as of the Singapore Government’s, full support, for the benefit of relations between the two countries.
