The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to Belize presents his credentials

The new High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to Belize, Dr Vasilios Philippou, presented his credentials to Her Excellency, Ms Dame Froyla Tzalam, Governor-General of Belize, during an official ceremony held on 19 May 2025 at the Presidential Palace, in Belmopan.

During the meeting that followed, High Commissioner, Dr Philippou, conveyed the warmest greetings and sincere wishes for peace and prosperity from the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, to Her Excellency and the people of Belize. He reaffirmed Cyprus’ commitment to further strengthening the cordial relations between the two nations, both bilaterally and within the framework of the Commonwealth, and international organisations.

High Commissioner, Dr Philippou, expressed gratitude for Belize’s principled support for a just and lasting solution to the Cyprus problem, in line with United Nations (UN) Security Council Resolutions, aiming for a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation with political equality as prescribed in the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions.
