The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of the Philippines presents his credentials

At a ceremony held at the Malacañang Palace in Manila, on 7 November 2024, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of the Philippines, with residence in Jakarta, Mr Nikos Panayiotou, presented his credentials to the President of the country, Mr Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Panayiotou conveyed the cordial greetings of the President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, and expressed, on behalf of the Government and the people of Cyprus, a message of support in relation to the recent natural disasters that have struck the country. He also expressed Cyprus’ desire to further deepen the already excellent relations between the two countries, which are based on common principles and values, as well as on people-to-people contacts.
The President of the Philippines reciprocated the warm greetings of President Christodoulides, emphasising the bonds that unite the people of the two countries. He wished the new Ambassador every success, assuring him that he will have his and his Government’s support in his mission.
