The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Montenegro presents his credentials
17/02/24 08:44 | Press release | Foreign PolicyThe Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Montenegro, Mr Andreas Fotiou, presented his credentials to the President of Montenegro, Mr Jakov Milatovic, at an official ceremony held on Wednesday 14 February 2024 at the Blue Palace in Cetinje.
During the subsequent meeting, the excellent level of bilateral relations based on the close friendship between the two countries was confirmed and the mutual interest in strengthening and expanding bilateral sectoral cooperation was reaffirmed. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus reiterated Cyprus’ firm support for Montenegro’s European course and thanked for the country’s firm principled position on the Cyprus problem, informing President Milatović of the latest developments.
President Milatovic wished the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus every success in his work, stressing that he will have the full support of him and his government in strengthening the relations between Cyprus and Montenegro.
During his stay in Podgorica, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus held meetings with the Presedent of the Parliament, Mr Andrija Mandic, the Foreign Minister, Mr Filip Ivanovic, the Minister of European Affairs, Ms Maida Gorčević, and Montenegro’s EU Chief Negotiator, Mr Predrag Zenović.
