The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Czech Republic presents her credentials

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Czech Republic, Ms Aliki Pascali, presented her credentials to the President of the Czech Republic, Mr Petr Pavel, on Wednesday, 8 October 2025, during an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace, in Prague.
This was followed by a private audience between Ambassador Pascali and President Pavel, during which they reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways of further strengthening them.
Ms Pascali conveyed the warm regards of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, which President Pavel reciprocated. She also conveyed an invitation from President Christodoulides to his Czech counterpart to pay an official visit to Cyprus.
The Ambassador subsequently had the opportunity to brief the Czech President on the Cyprus Question and on prospects for the resumption of negotiations aimed at finding a solution within the agreed framework. They also discussed matters relating to Cyprus’ role as a facilitator in providing security in the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, in light of recent developments, with particular reference to the “ESTIA” and “AMALTHEA” initiatives, for which President Pavel showed particular interest.
The Ambassador also informed Mr Pavel about the priorities of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the first half of 2026.
