The Ambassador of Cyprus to Iraq presents his credentials

The non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Iraq, resident in Amman, Mr Sevag Avedissian, presented on 11 March 2025 his credentials to the President of the Republic of Iraq, Mr Abdul Latif Rashid, at an official ceremony held at Baghdad Palace.
In the meeting that followed, the Ambassador conveyed the heartfelt greetings of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, to the Iraqi President and underlined the will of the Government of Cyprus for the further strengthening and deepening of the relations and cooperation between the two countries in various sectors.
The President of Iraq extended his warm greetings to President Christodoulides and referred to the friendly relations between the two countries. In this context, he underlined that he looks forward to the official reciprocal visit of President Christodoulides to Iraq, further to his official visit to Cyprus in December 2023, the first of an Iraqi head of state, which will contribute to the further enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries.
