Humanitarian Pharmaceutical Aid to Lebanon

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus, is sending up to three tons of medicines and consumables to the Lebanese Republic. Having been informed by the Lebanese authorities about the serious needs of the neighbouring country’s medical system, we responded with the collection of pharmaceutical aid. The collection is being completed today and the aid will be flown from tomorrow, Friday 18 October, to Beirut.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Ambassador Andreas S. Kakouris, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus, Dr Christina Yiannaki, and the Ambassador of Lebanon, Ms Claude El Hajal, were present today during the delivery of the aid in Larnaka.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus wishes to thank everyone involved for the immediate mobilisation, in order to collect the aid and make all necessary arrangements.
The Republic of Cyprus will continue its systematic efforts towards supporting the people who are in need and are affected by the current situation in the wider Middle East region.
