Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation and GBCY announce strategic collaboration

Great Britain – Cyprus Business Association (GBCY), the business association that helps create business relationships and enhance business opportunities between companies established in Great Britain and Cyprus, and Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS), the national standardisation body in Cyprus, have announced a new strategic collaboration. 

The Director of Standardisation of CYS, Mr Pambos Kammas, and the Founder and President of GBCY, Mr Savvas Kyriakides, met on the 5th of January 2024 to identify the specific areas of this new engagement.

This strategic collaboration represents a significant step forward, as it aims to support GBCY’s members by using the services and solutions offered by CYS. The alliance has the potential to help corporations in all sectors accelerate progress to a safer and more sustainable future as well as enhance competitiveness and performance. In particular, the collaboration is designed to bring GBCY’s members multiple benefits, such as elevating networking opportunities among key players in the standardisation arena, access to sector specific trends and current information on market led standards to improve the quality, safety and integrity of their products, services and processes. Furthermore, through this collaboration stakeholders will capitalize on the opportunity of participating to local and international business events, webinars and trainings. Sharing knowledge through the use of best practice standards assists in improving performance, grow sustainably, manage risk and ultimately become more resilient in this ever-evolving business landscape. 

This new collaboration is aligned with GBCY’s commitment to promote networking opportunities for corporations based in Great Britain and in Cyprus. Consequently, the announcement is in line with CYS’s vision “to constantly upgrade the quality level in all sectors of the economy and society through the promotion and implementation of standards”. 

GBCY and CYS are natural partners with a shared objective and are prompt to create a robust and scalable strategic collaboration, ultimately strengthening synergies among stakeholders.
