Announcement by the Deputy Ministry of Culture on the programme of events celebrating International Museum Day

The International Museum Day (18 May) is once again celebrated this year under the theme “Museums, Sustainability and Well-being”. The general Museums Programme in Cyprus is coordinated by the National ICOM Committee, under the responsibility of the Antiquities Department.

The State Gallery of Contemporary Art – Majestic participates in this year’s celebrations with a programme of events, taking place on 18, 19 and 20 May 2023, which are dedicated to the life and work of Cypriot painter Giorgos Skotinos (1937–2022).

The programme includes exhibitions and art workshops for children and families, contemporary dance and sound performances, creative movement and live music workshops and interactive art/paleontology workshops.
