Monthly Economic Developments: January-February 2025

The Statistical Service announces the publication of the bimonthly bulletin “Monthly Economic Developments” for the period January-February 2025. The bulletin includes the most important economic developments for the Cyprus economy for the latest months up to February 2025, as well as comparative data for the last four years, which were available until the 14th of April 2025.

Note: The trend component depicts the long-term evolution of the series, which can be observed over a long period of time. It is the result of influences such as population growth, technological development, and general economic development.
Manufacturing Production during the month January 2025 recorded an increase of 3,7% compared to January 2024.
The total area of Building Permits Authorised reached 2.321,8 thousand square metres during the period January-December 2024, recording an increase of 1,2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The total Registrations of Motor Vehicles decreased by 8,8%, reaching to 7.834 during the period January-February 2025. Private saloon cars decreased to 5.495, recording a decrease of 13,1%, and light goods vehicles increased to 773, recording a rise of 1,0% compared to January-February 2024.
The Consumer Price Index increased by 2,2% during the period January-February 2025, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The total Imports of Goods reached €2.160,7 mn during the period January-February 2025, recording an increase of 24,8%, and total Exports of Goods reached €913,3 mn, recording also an increase of 55,9%.
The Arrivals of Tourists totalled 245.860 during the period January-February 2025, compared to 212.995 in the corresponding period of 2024, recording an increase of 15,4%.
