Imports, Sales and Stocks of Petroleum Products: February 2025

Annual Change in Sales -3,2 %
In February 2025, the total sales of petroleum products amounted to 111.760 tonnes, recording a decrease of 3.2% compared to February 2024. A drop was observed in the provisions of marine gasoil (-28.3%) and aviation kerosene (-8.2%), as well as in the sales of light and heavy fuel oil (-26.9% and -18.1% respectively), asphalt (-19.5%), motor gasoline (-2.9%) , and road diesel (-2.5%). On the contrary, an increase was recorded in the sales of kerosene (60.5%), heating gasoil (36.6%), and liquefied petroleum gases (20.9%). As far as the sales from filling stations are specifically concerned, these have registered a rise of 2.5% to 57.326 tonnes.
The total sales of petroleum products in February 2025, compared to January 2025, recorded an increase of 4.9%. Indicatively, a rise was recorded in the sales of kerosene (42.3%) and heating gasoil (28.1%), yet there was a drop in the provisions of aviation kerosene (-7.4%) and in the sales of motor gasoline (-5.2%) and road diesel (-0.7%). The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of February 2025 fell by 14.1%, compared to the end of the previous month.
During the period January-February 2025, the total sales of petroleum products decreased by 3.0%, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Methodological Information
Scope and Coverage
The collection of data on Imports, Sales and Stocks of Petroleum Products is carried out on a monthly basis.
It concerns the sales of petroleum products from filling stations and the sales to government departments, to the British Bases and the United Nations, to ships and to other customers, as well as the stocks held at the end of each month. Only the petroleum companies are being covered. Additionally, the imports of petroleum products imported directly from the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and the manufacturing industry are also included.
Data Collection
The collection of data is conducted by the Statistical Service on a monthly basis by electronically receiving a purpose-designed questionnaire from each of these companies.
