The Department of Antiquities of the Deputy Ministry of Culture announces that on Wednesday, 23rd October 2024, at 20:00, a concert titled “Saudade: From Lisbon to Lefkosia in 75’” will take place within the Cyprus Museum’s exhibition halls with the singer Vakia Stavrou and the guitarist Angelos Heipeloglos. The event is co-organised with the Embassy of Portugal as part of the events of the Department of Antiquities to promote cultural activities at the Cyprus Museum.

Vakia (Vakia Stavrou), creator and performer of the Portuguese and timeless song entitled “Sozinha”, promises to indulge the audience in an evening of mysticism at the Archaeological Museum, without a microphone, accompanied only by the classical guitarist Angelos Heipeloglos. She will present a repertoire that travels from the heart of Portugal through Spain, France, Greece and other countries to Cyprus. Saudade, meaning nostalgia, desire, memories, strong feelings.

An evening that promises to awaken the senses and transfer the hearts of the listeners beyond everyday life to the dream, as Vakia distinctively knows how to do with her unique interpretations and her crystal voice.

The entrance will be free to the public with necessary pre-reservation of seats at events.nicosia@mne.pt until 20th October 2024.
