Press release of the Department of Contemporary Culture regarding on the funding scheme for the support of film productions

The Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus announces an open call for applications for the Main Film Funding Programme, for the categories of Screenwriting and Production Plan Development.

Applications shall be submitted online via the platform between 1st July 2025 and 30^th September 2025, at 14:00.

Filmmakers, producers and production companies are invited to create their own account on the platform, through which they may apply for funding.

The Regulation of the Programmes and all relevant forms are available on the Department’s website and on the Cinema Office’s website.

The Department also announces that on Wednesday 9 July 2025, at 10.00, officers of the Cinema Office will offer a presentation of the platform and respond to questions regarding the application process.

The presentation will be held on the ground floor of the Deputy Ministry of Culture. Interested producers and directors are requested to register their participation in the above presentation no later than Monday 7 July 2025 via email to cinema@culture.gov.cy.
