Call for the expression of interest for Procurement of Services – Position for the execution of duties of Coordination of Cultural Activities in Italy

The Department of Contemporary Culture, of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus, calls for the expression of interest for the Procurement of Services for the execution of duties of Coordination of Cultural Activities – Rome and Italy.

A. Place of work:

Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Rome

B. Contract duration:

15^th October 2025 – 15^th July 2026 (9 months)

C. Remuneration:

€18.000

D. Duties:

The holder of the position will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring the cultural activities of the Republic of Cyprus in Italy as part of the Cyprus Presidency 2026, with emphasis in Rome and, in particular, the organization of parallel events to the archaeological exhibition that will take place in Rome during the Cyprus Presidency. In parallel, he/she will be responsible for the coordination between the Embassy and the Deputy Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus regarding Cyprus’ participation in the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art 2026 (Biennale Arte 2026).

E. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning, organizing/implementation and monitoring of the cultural program of the Cyprus Presidency in Italy, with emphasis in Rome, within the framework of the Cyprus Presidency, with a maximum number of eight (8) events.
• Organizing and supervising the parallel cultural activities of the archaeological exhibition in Rome, including the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
• Coordinating activities for the organization of Cyprus’ participation in the Biennale Arte 2026.
• Supporting the communication and information exchange between all parties involved in Cyprus and Italy.
• Monitoring timelines, preparing progress reports, and ensuring the effective implementation of actions.
• Physical presence at the Embassy in order to facilitate direct cooperation and effective intervention.

F. Required Qualifications:

• Higher Education Degree in fields such as Cultural Management, Humanities, International Relations, Visual Arts, History and Archaeology or a related subject.
• Experience in organizing and coordinating cultural activities, preferably in an international environment.
• Very good knowledge of the Italian and Greek or English language.
• Ability to communicate and cooperate with institutional and cultural bodies in Cyprus and abroad.
• Ability to take initiative, manage projects, and solve problems effectively.
• Organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.

G. Operating Framework:

The holder of the position will operate under the direct supervision of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Rome and the Deputy Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus, ensuring the smooth implementation of the cultural program of the Cyprus Presidency 2026 in Italy and the preparation of the Cypriot presence at the Biennale Arte 2026. His/her physical presence at the Embassy is considered essential for the effective performance of his/her duties.
