Commissioner for Gender Equality takes on a leading role in the EmpowerMed Women network of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF)

The Commissioner for Gender Equality, Ms Josie Christodoulou, has been appointed as Head of the EmpowerMed Women Network Executive Committee for “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion”.
The EmpowerMed Women network is an initiative of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF). The network’s mission is to promote gender equality and diversity in the energy sector, enhance women’s representation in decision-making roles and create a supportive community that enhances networking and mentoring opportunities for women in the gas and energy sectors.
The leading role assigned to the Commissioner for Gender Equality in the network’s executive committee constitutes an acknowledgement of the Cypriot government’s action to promote gender equality in all areas.
On 16 February 2025 Ms Christodoulou will address the EmpowerMed launch event in Cairo.
