Acting Director

Christina Flourentzou-Kakouri

Christina Flourentzou-Kakouri is the Acting Director of the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.

She is a holder of a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Public Management.  Since 1988, she has worked in the private sector for three years, and in 1990 she was appointed in the Public Service as an Administrative Officer, with subsequent promotions to the positions of Administrative Officer A’, Senior Administrative Officer and since 2010 as the Director of the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.

Her service includes six years in the Public Administration and Personnel Department, nine years in the Office of the Loans Commissioners at the Treasury of the Republic, two years in the Cyprus Academy for Public Administration, sixteen years in the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance and, since 2023, in the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare.

She was engaged in the conduct of organisation and staffing surveys in public services, management of public loans, applied research in public management and strengthening of the administrative capacity of Cyprus to manage social policies and actions for persons with disabilities.

She was born in Famagusta in 1966 and she lives in Nicosia with her husband Kyriacos Kakouris and their three sons.
